Workshop to help Fayetteville-area property owners avoid disaster damage
Fayetteville Observer (NC)
Feb. 05--Fayetteville-area residents can get tips and advice on how to protect their families and their homes from future disasters at a workshop Tuesday, state and federal officials said.
A workshop with mitigation specialists is scheduled for 6 p.m. at College Lakes Recreation Center, 4945 Rosehill Road, says an announcement from the N.C. Emergency Management office and the Federal Emergency Management Agency. Participants can learn things they can do with their property to reduce the loss of life and property damage, it says.
"FEMA mitigation specialists will be available to answer questions about home repair and resiliency, making disaster plans, the importance of flood insurance and the opportunity for attendees to locate their properties on the floodplain map," the announcement says.
