MassMutual Ascend Surpasses $2 Billion in Lifetime Advisory Annuity Sales, Reflecting Continued Momentum in RIA Channel

CINCINNATI – August 11, 2026 – MassMutual Ascend today announced it has surpassed $2 billion in lifetime advisory annuity sales, a significant milestone that underscores the growing adoption of advisory annuities within the registered investment advisor (RIA) channel.

The achievement has been driven by strong partnerships with more than 1,700 investment advisor representatives from nearly 1,000 different RIAs who write annuity business with MassMutual Ascend, as well as firms increasingly embracing advisory annuities as a valuable component of diversified retirement portfolios, reflecting their growing role in comprehensive financial planning.

"Surpassing $2 billion in lifetime advisory annuity sales is an exciting achievement, but what's even more meaningful is the momentum behind it," said Joe Maringer, Senior Vice President and National Sales Manager at MassMutual Ascend. "Nearly $900 million of those sales were generated in 2025 and 2026 alone, underscoring the tremendous growth we're seeing in the advisory annuity market. MassMutual Ascend has been a longstanding leader in the advisory annuity marketplace. In 2016, the company launched the industry's first advisory fixed-indexed annuity, broadening access to annuities designed specifically for advisors operating under a fee-based model.
