The Volkswagen Scandal May Increase Auto Insurance Premiums for Several Models

PR Newswire iReach

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 17, 2015 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Autoinsurancequotesave.com has released a new blog post presenting car models affected by the VW scandal.

The Volkswagen scandal has affected the auto industry and some of these effects can even affect auto insurance premiums. Car owners who have several Volkswagen models may have to meet a recall order and get their cars fixed by getting a software update. The newly released article shows which models have been affected by the most recent and biggest scandal in the auto industry.

Volkswagen announced that the any models with an  EA189 engine, which mostly means 1.2 l, 1.6 l and 2.0 l diesel engines will have to meet the recall order. VW announced that it will start recalling vehicles starting from January 2016. Most of these vehicles were sold between 2004 and 2009. Most of these engines are used by  Golfs, Passats, Škoda Octavias and Fabias.

Volkswagen sold more than 400,000 vehicles in the United States, which means that American drivers who own the following model, should expect a recall order: The 2009-2015 VW Beetle 2.0L TDI; 2009-2015 VW Golf 2.0L TDI; 2009-2015 VW Jetta 2.0L TDI; 2009-2015 Audi A3 2.0L TDI; and 2014-2015 VW Passat 2.0L TDI.

Will auto insurance prices increase?

Volkswagen owners should expect to pay more for vehicle coverage if their vehicles get recalled. A car who has been under a recall order will be considered as being riskier to cover under a basic collision and even liability coverage plan. This means that most customers may have to pay more for auto insurance.

A good way in which auto insurance prices can be reduced is by comparing online auto insurance quotes. This can now be done online, simply by visiting an insurance brokerage website that has important connections with various agencies.

This makes buying auto insurance easier and cheaper as clients can compare various plans and thus, get plans at competitive prices. Since all the quotes are displayed on a single web page, visiting other websites and even calling agents becomes unnecessary.

Autoinsurancequotesave.com is an online provider of life, home, health, and auto insurance quotes. This website is unique because it does not simply stick to one kind of insurance provider, but brings the clients the best deals from many different online insurance carriers. In this way, clients have access to  offers from multiple carriers all in one place: this website. On this site, customers have access to quotes for insurance plans from various agencies, such as local or nationwide agencies, brand names insurance companies, etc.
