Senator: It’s sabotage and Washington needs to knock it off

(Missoula, Mont.)--After reports surfaced that the Administration will end cost-sharing reduction payments, U.S. Senator Jon Tester is demanding the Administration reverse course and continue the payments, which lower health insurance rates.

"This decision will spike health insurance costs that are already way too high. This deliberate sabotage forces Montanans to spend even more of their money on health care, draining their already strained bank accounts. Washington needs to knock it off and start working together to lower the cost of health care."

Tester is sponsoring the Marketplace Certainty Act, which ensures the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services makes cost-sharing reduction payments. The Montana Chamber of Commerce this summer told Tester about the importance of preserving cost-sharing reduction payments to provide certainty to Montana businesses.
