Pelosi Statement on CBO Report Showing GOP Sabotage is Raising Americans' Health Care Costs

Washington, D.C. - Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi issued this statement on the new CBO report which finds that premiums in the individual market will be going up by an average of 15 percent in 2019 and three million more Americans will lose health coverage, mostly caused by GOP health care sabotage:

"Every day, the costs of the Republicans' cynical sabotage campaign in the lives of the American people become clearer. A year's worth of spiteful GOP sabotage means that Americans purchasing insurance on the individual market will see their premiums hiked by an average of 15 percent, while another 3 million Americans will lose their health coverage altogether.

"Hard-working American families cannot afford the raw deal Republicans are giving them on health care. Democrats are offering A Better Deal to protect and improve the health law by lowering premiums and out-of-pocket costs, and to take bold action to drive down the cost of prescription drugs."
