Sep. 2—Three community development financial institutions in New Mexico recently were awarded grants from the Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas through a grant program the bank says will help support affordable housing, small business and economic development efforts.
Southwest Capital Bank, a member of the Dallas bank cooperative, awarded Albuquerque's Women's Economic Self-Sufficiency Team $52,580. Santa Fe's Homewise Inc. was awarded $192,500. Southwest also awarded the Santa Fe Community Housing Trust a nonmonetary grant which will provide communication and marketing strategy and small-scale automation expertise.
The Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas, one of 11 district banks within the Federal Home Loan Bank system, serves 800 members and associated institutions in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas and New Mexico.
For 2024, the Dallas bank's grant program, Capacity Building and Growth Grant, awarded almost $3.4 million to 14 community development financial institutions that do not accept deposits.
