Man injured in motorcycle accident

March 25--A Jamestown man was injured after he crashed a motorcycle he was riding on Sunday night, according to the Jamestown Police Department.

Aaron Marsalek, 35, Jamestown was driving a 2007 Harley-Davidson Heritage Softtail with no helmet in the 1400 block of 6th Avenue Northwest. The police said Marsalek started going up a driveway, hit some gravel and lost control of the motorcycle. He laid the motorcycle down.

The police said officers arrived on the scene at 1:16 a.m. Monday and found the motorcycle by itself with Marsalek nowhere in sight. One officer attempted to contact Marasalek after the officer determined Marsalek was the owner, but was unsuccessful. The officer had the motorcycle placed in impound.

On Wednesday Marsalek contacted the Stutsman County Law Enforcement Center to see about getting his motorcycle back. He met with a Jamestown police officer and told the officer about what happened. He said he went to a friend's house after the crash and didn't think there was a problem because the motorcycle was off the roadway.

Marsalek said he had a cut on his forehead and his back hurt after the accident, but he didn't seek medical treatment for the injuries.

Marsalek was cited for leaving the scene of an accident involving minor injury, driving a motor vehicle without liability insurance, drove vehicle other than permitted by license class, care required when driving and failure to give immediate notice of an accident.
