John Hancock Offers Life Insurance To Those With HIV
BOSTON, April 22, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- John Hancock Insurance, in keeping with its progressive approach and commitment to its customers, now is offering term and permanent life insurance coverage to applicants living with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) if they meet certain criteria.
This offering includes applicants ages 30 to 65 for face amounts up to $2,000,000 subject to a favorable and stable clinical course, strict adherence and response to antiretroviral therapy (ART), and the absence of significant immunosuppression or co-morbid conditions.

John Hancock's announcement is being made in conjunction with a similar announcement made by its parent, Canada-based global financial services company, Manulife. Manulife is the first insurer in Canada to offer life insurance to people living with HIV.
