IRMI Announces New Online Transportation Certification Program

DALLAS, Texas, Jan. 10 -- The International Risk Management Institute issued the following news release:

International Risk Management Institute, Inc. (IRMI(R)), and WebCE have launched an online curriculum for the Transportation Risk and Insurance Professional (TRIP(TM) ) certification and continuing education (CE) program at TRIP-ce.com.

The TRIP program is a specialized curriculum focusing on the insurance and risk management needs of the transportation industry.

The core curriculum is composed of five insurance and risk management CE courses that are directly focused on understanding, mitigating, and insuring the complex exposures of transportation.

* Essentials of Regulations, Statutes, and Motor Carrier Liability Coverage

* Hauling the Freight: Cargo Risks and Insurance

* Liability Insurance for the Transportation Industry

* Workers Compensation and Transportation Industry

* Understanding the Transportation Industry and Its Risks

"Completing the TRIP certification will ensure an understanding of the most important insurance needs of the transportation industry and demonstrate dedication to the industry," said Millie Workman, director of training and education at IRMI.

Completing all five courses (each with a passing score) entitles transportation insurance professionals to display and use the TRIP certification. Each TRIP course costs $99, plus $15 for CE credit if needed.

To maintain the certification, the TRIP certification holder must complete only 6 hours of TRIP CE credit every 12 months thereafter. This can be satisfied through just one additional online course or by attending approved seminars and conferences.
