Insurers Support No Texting While Driving Ban For Florida Drivers
TALLAHASSEE, Fla., March 7 -- The Property Casualty Insurers Association of America issued the following statement by regional manager Logan McFaddin on legislation (S.B. 144) relating no texting while driving ban for Florida drivers:
"Simple modifications to driver behavior can make a difference in improving safety and reducing costs. Auto insurers applaud Senator Rene Garcia and the Communication, Energy, and Public Utilities committee's passage of SB 144 as it will provide primary enforcement on Florida's ban on texting while driving for all drivers.
"We encourage all drivers, not just teens, to put down their smartphones and drive responsibly. Staying focused on the road can prevent a tragedy. Insurers support any legislation that helps reduce auto accidents, lower insurance costs, and most importantly, keep you and your loved ones safe."
PCI promotes and protects the viability of a competitive private insurance market for the benefit of consumers and insurers.
