Targeted News Service (Press Releases)
TALLAHASSEE, Fla., March 7 -- The Property Casualty Insurers Association of America issued the following statement by regional manager Logan McFaddin regarding the House Insurance & Banking Subcommittee workshop on a proposed committee bill relating to workers compensation:
"We appreciate the House Insurance & Banking Subcommittee discussing the need to reform the state's workers compensation system to provide balance and protections for employers and employees.
"While we do not support this bill at this time, it starts a very important dialogue about the urgent need for workers compensation reform in Florida.
"A vibrant and healthy marketplace for workers compensation in the Sunshine State is a must for injured workers to receive the quality care benefits they deserve at reasonable costs to employers.
"We support the proposal put forward by the Florida Workers' Compensation Strategic Task Force that delivers a comprehensive solution that gives Floridians the ability to avoid unnecessary litigation and receive the timely benefits they need if injured on the job."
