WESTCHESTER COUNTY

FRESH PRODUCE ON THE WALKWAY

Starting May 27, Field Goods will begin making its weekly fresh produce delivery services available on both ends of the Walkway Over the Hudson State Historic Park. Field Goods will make subscriber deliveries Friday afternoons from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Walkway's eastern pavilion in Poughkeepsie and the park's western pavilion in the town of Lloyd.

Founded five years ago, Field Goods delivers freshly harvested local fruit and vegetables to employees and consumers at workplaces and community locations. Field Goods subscribers receive five to eight different types of fruits and vegetables each week, sourced from more than 80 small farms. The company is a certified New York State Woman-Owned business and has been recognized for its hiring of workers with disabilities.

TWO JOIN CHILDREN'S ADVOCACY GROUP

Denise Killeen and Erica Ayala have joined the staff of the Westchester Children's Association in White Plains.

Killeen is the communications and data associate. A Croton-on-Hudson native and College of Charleston graduate, she worked at the Westchester Coalition for the Hungry and Homeless Inc. and then at the Food Bank for Westchester as the programs services coordinator.

Ayala, a New Rochelle native and Mount Vernon resident, will serve as project manager to advance the Gathering Policy Solutions for Kids (GPS4KIDS) Collective Impact Initiative. Prior to joining the association, she was the youth leadership development associate at the Children's Defense Fund-New York office. Ayala holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from Elon University and was a candidate this month to receive a Master of Public Administration degree from New York University Robert F. Wagner School of Public Service.

Westchester Children's Association, established in 1914, is one of the oldest children's advocacy organizations in the United States, it seeks to improve the lives of Westchester's children by using data to understand their needs, shaping policy and programs to help meet their needs, and educating and mobilizing voters to keep those needs at the top of the public agenda.

ORMC HONORS DONORS

The Orange Regional Medical Center Foundation recently honored former board chairman Rolland B. Peacock III with the Leadership Award. In addition, auxiliary President Florence Sawyer received the Volunteer Leadership Award, Pepsi Cola of the Hudson Valley was presented with the Corporate Leadership Award and the Middletown Kiwanis Club was presented with the Community Leadership Award.

Foundation Chairman Jonathan Rouis in addressing guests and honorées said at the reception at Villa Venezia in Middletown, "No one can argue that health care is changing at the speed of light both nationally and right here in our region. WJCS APPOINTS TWO DIRECTORS

Westchester Jewish Community Services (WJCS) has announced the appointment of two new members to the executive team: Margarita Munoz-Dummit as chief medical director, and Milagros Rivera as human resources director. Munoz-Dummit has served as a psychiatrist in the WJCS Yonkers and Mount Vernon Family Mental Health Clinics since joining the agency in 1998. She is board certified in psychiatry and neurology as well as child and adolescent psychiatry. She is a recipient of the Westchester County Task Force on Child Abuse and Neglect Award and the Champions for Children Award from Family Ties. She is a graduate of New York Medical College and the Sophie Davis Program of City College of the City University of New York.

Rivera assumed her position as human resources director at WJCS in April. Prior to that she was director of human resources at Internos America, a manufacturing operation in Congers, where she oversaw all aspects of HR for a staff of 900. Rivera has an MBA from Iona College and a Master of Science degree in organizational management and human resources from Manhattanville College. She is a member of the Society of Human Resource Management.

WJCS is one of the largest nonprofit, nonsectarian human services agencies in Westchester, serving 20,000 people annually.

BIEBER JOINS WHITE PLAINS FIRM

Bruce W. Bieber has joined White Plains-based Kurzman Eisenberg Corbin & Lever LLP as a partner in the litigation and corporate departments.

A former founding partner of the Manhattan firm Zimmet Bieber LLR Bieber represents a wide range of commercial clients, from international publicly traded corporations to closely held family businesses. He also regularly represents high-networth individuals in shareholder and partnership disputes and serves as counsel to numerous businesses and individuals.

DEALING WITH ALZHEIMER'S

The Allied Professional Group of Westchester presents Helping Your Clients and Families Deal With Alzheimer's Disease on June 9 from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. at Doral Arrowwood. The highlights of this networking and educational evening include the viewing of the documentary, "Glen Campbell: I'll Be Me," and a presentation by Peter Strauss, an elder law attorney, focusing on advising individuals and families who are impacted by cognitive disabilities. RIGUARDI RECEIVES HONORARY DOCTORATE

Peter Riguardi, chairman and president of JLL's New York tristate operations, received an honorary doctorate degree from Iona College and provided the keynote address at commencement ceremonies for the master's degree graduating class of 2016, held on May 21 at Madison Square Garden,

A 1983 Iona College graduate with degrees in marketing and finance, Riguardi received an honorary Doctor of Business Adminis- j tration degree. Riguardi leads all operations for JLL in the New York, New Jersey and Connecticut area, managing a team of approximately 2,000 in seven offices throughout the region. Named chair in February 2016, in addition to retaining his role as president, Riguardi now oversees all business lines in the region including brokerage, capital markets, property/facilities management, consulting, and project and development services. He serves on the board of governors for the Real Estate Board of New York and is an active member of the organization's senior leadership.

CONSERVATORY APPOINTS DEAN

Music Conservatory of Westchester in White Plains, a not-for-profit community music school, has appointed Douglas Bish as its new dean of students and faculty. Bish, who returns to the conservatory after serving on its faculty from 2006-11, has enjoyed a multifaceted career as an academic leader, conductor, clarinetist, educator, author, lecturer and music clinician.

"The Conservatory is one of the truly iconic institutions for community music education in the country and I'm thrilled to be able to play a part in guiding its future," Bish said.

Jean Newton, the conservatory's executive director, said Bish was selected among a pool of worthy applicants, because of his extensive background and proven leadership. His appointment comes at a pivotal moment in the school's history, as it makes plans to expand its programming and develop new studios for technology-based classes. A grant from the New York State Council on the Arts is currently supporting design development for 3,500 square feet of unfinished space in the Conservatory's White Plains building. Bish will play a key role in crafting a strategic plan to set goals for the next four years, culminating in the school's 90th anniversary year in 2019-2020.

Most recently, Bish was dean of the School of Fine, Applied and Communication Arts at the City College of San Francisco. Previously, he served as chairman of the Department of Music for the Nyack Public Schools. He has conducted professional, amateur and student orchestras and wind ensembles around the world. He holds a master's degree in clarinet performance and music education from the University of Oregon, and a doctoral degree in music education and conducting from Boston University. As a Fulbright Scholar, he earned an Artist Diploma in clarinet performance from the Vienna Music Academy.

Bish is a former Hawthorne resident who lives in Beacon, with his wife, Kathy Sireno, a public school music teacher and professional flutist.

LEASON ELLIS ADDS TO STAFF

Intellectual property law firm Leason Ellis has announced the addition of Adda Gogoris and Michael Davitz as partners. Also joining them are patent agent Jia Li and scientific adviser Svetlana Pavlovic

Gogoris, who most recently served as partner at Ascenda Law Group in New York City, brings more than 35 years of experience in intellectual property practice serving the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and chemical industries. She earned her undergraduate degree and law degree from Cornell University. She is admitted to the bar in New York and registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

Davitz, also previously a partner at Ascenda Law Group, is both a physician-scientist and an attorney. Prior to law school, he was an assistant professor of pathology and environmental medicine at New York University School of Medicine. Davitz is a graduate of Yale University, the College of Physicians and Surgeons at Columbia University, and New York University School of Law. He has been admitted to the bar in New York, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and the Canadian Intellectual Property Office.

Li is a patent agent who obtained her Ph.D. in pharmacology from Yale University. She was also a Postdoctoral Fellow at Rockefeller University, where she was the recipient of the Anna Fuller Cancer Fund graduate fellowship and the National Cancer Center postdoctoral fellowship.

Pavlovic is a scientific adviser who obtained her Ph.D. in molecular biology and biochemistry in a joint program between Weill Cornell Graduate School of Medical Sciences and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. She is also currently a law student in the evening program at Fordham University School of Law, where she expects to graduate in 2018.

The White Plains-based law firm manages global patent, trademark and copyright portfolios and litigates intellectual property disputes.

WALK - AND RUN - TO BENEFIT CANCER

Stamford Health, a nonprofit health care system in lower Fairfield County, is holding its annual Hope in Motion Walk & Run to benefit the Carl & Dorothy Bennett Cancer Center. Sunday, June 5, which is National Cancer Survivors Day. For more than 20 years, the cancer center has offered a range of supportive care options, including medicine programs, individual and group counseling, nutrition and exercise counseling and survivor programs. The event is in its 21st year and includes a 5K and 10K run along with a 5K walk, all of which begin and end in Stamford Columbus Park. More than 5,000 people are expected to participate this year, with funds directly supporting services provided to patients and their families at the center. INSPIRICA RECEIVES $100K GRANT

Stamford-based Inspirica Inc., an organization that strives to break the cycle of homelessness, was the inaugural recipient of Impact Fairfield County's $100,000 award. Founded by Greenwich residents Wendy Block and Vicki Craver, Impact Fairfield County's goal is to provide high-impact grants that reach underserved populations and unmet needs in the area. More than 64 organizations submitted applications this year, with only three making it to the finals. Inpirica's Early Childhood and Parenting Program combines crucial childhood learning, development and pre-literacy programs for homeless children, ages 0-5, to ensure that children residing in the organization's shelters develop in line with their peers.

CHENG JOINS WCHN BREAST OENTER

Western Connecticut Health Network (WCHN), a health care organization based in Danbury, welcomed fellowship-trained breast surgeon Zandra Cheng to its multidisciplinary breast care team. Smart Kids with Learning Disabilities Inc. is a nonprofit based in Westport, whose mission is to empower the parents of children with learning disabilities and attention deficient disorders through its educational programs. For the last several years, Beumon has spearheaded the growth of Bookshare, a literary library of ebooks for people with visual, physical and learning disabilities like dyslexia. The library recently passed a milestone of 400,000 titles and more than 400,000 members.
