Everest Names Scott Paddington Chief Agent and Chief Underwriting Officer of Everest Reinsurance Canada and Appoints Russ Lewis to Chairman of Everest Reinsurance Canada

WARREN, New Jersey - April 25, 2022 - Everest Reinsurance, the reinsurance division of Everest Re Group, Ltd. (NYSE: RE) today announced the promotion of Scott Paddington to Chief Agent and Chief Underwriting Officer of Everest Reinsurance Canada, and the appointment of Russ Lewis to Chairman of Everest Reinsurance Canada. Both are reporting directly to Jill Beggs, Head of North America Reinsurance at Everest.

Paddington will oversee the operations of Everest's reinsurance business in Canada, and Lewis will continue to provide strategic counsel to Everest's reinsurance business in Canada and globally. These appointments are part of the company's continued investments in its deep bench of reinsurance talent and strategic goals and will continue to strengthen Everest's leading market position.

Since Paddington joined Everest in 2010, he has successfully led the growth and profitability of the Everest portfolio. Prior to joining Everest, Paddington worked as a financial advisor at Nesbitt Burns, in insurance at Empyrean and in reinsurance at Guy Carpenter Canada, as well as at various Canadian banks where he developed expertise in both capital markets and global risk management. He holds an MBA from Schulich School of Business and an Honours Bachelor of Commerce from Lakehead University.

Lewis, in this newly created position, will continue to represent Everest in the market and serve Everest clients and broker partners. He will also provide strategic direction and guidance to the Executive Team in Canada and globally. Over his 30-year career at Everest, Russ led a team that successfully grew the Canadian operation and built a leading brand in the Canadian market. Earlier in his career, Lewis gained reinsurance expertise at Prudential and General Reinsurance. He holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Waterloo.
