Thompson said Batrum had lived with her and her parents -- Batrum's grandparents -- "ever since he was brought home from the hospital." She said his father took care of him the best he could, and Batrum loved spending time with his cousins.

"He was an awesome kid," she said. "... I just don't even know what to say. He was just a precious person. We want everyone to know how much he was loved and how much he's going to be missed."

"She has a lot of injuries," Thompson said, listing multiple broken bones, organ damage and even a retina detachment. "She had emergency surgery on Saturday to repair the tear in her aorta, and she had surgery yesterday on her spleen, femur and pelvis."
Thompson wasn't sure how long the pair had been dating, just that they were high school sweethearts who were crazy about each other. She said they have not visited Worley yet but remain in contact with her mom.
"(Worley) wanted a piece of Isaac's clothing because she's so upset, so we've sent a shirt and a sweatshirt over to her," Thompson said.
