BRIEF: Fire marshal: Truck with pro-Trump stickers was intentionally set on fire

Oct. 30--Fire investigators have determined that a pickup with pro-President Donald Trump stickers parked at a local bar was intentionally set on fire.

Vancouver Fire Marshal Heidi Scarpelli did not say who may have started the fire or whether investigators have identified any suspects.

A team of police and fire investigators is actively following up on the case, she said in an email Monday.

The Vancouver Fire Department was dispatched about 2:30 a.m. Oct. 8 to Garage Bar & Grille at 1101 W. Fourth Plain Blvd. Vancouver police officers were asked to respond shortly thereafter "to assist with a suspicious vehicle fire," police department spokeswoman Kim Kapp said.

According to Kapp, a Nissan Titan was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived.

The pickup had "Trump" spray-painted on the left side and pro-Trump stickers on the bumper.

Owner Johnny MacKay said he left the truck parked in the lot overnight after having a few drinks at the bar and opting to take an Uber home.

The truck was worth about $30,000, according to the fire marshal.
