BRIEF: With deputy in pursuit, motorcyclist topping 100 mph crashes, dies north of metro

June 18--A sheriff's deputy's pursuit of a motorcyclist speeding north of the metro ended with a crash that killed the fleeing man over the weekend, authorities said Monday.
The crash occurred about 3:15 a.m. Saturday along Golden Avenue just north of North Branch, according to the Chisago County Sheriff's Office.
Family and friends have identified the motorcyclist as Jason G. Lindman, 34, of Henriette, Minn. Lindman's criminal history includes many traffic violations and convictions for other crimes spanning nearly 16 years and spread over 10 counties in Minnesota.
The deputy's "very, very short" pursuit began when Lindman was spotted traveling more than 100 miles per hour, Chief Deputy Justin Wood said Monday.
After the racing-style motorcycle crashed, a deputy told dispatch that Lindman had "quite a bit of money in his wallet" in the form of "wads of 20s and 100s," the scanner audio revealed.
Lindman's driving history includes 10 convictions for speeding, three for driving with a suspended license, one each for drunken driving and having no vehicle insurance. He also has six convictions for drug offenses, two for theft and one each for passing a bad check and burglary.
