BRIEF: State offers fuel tax registration waiver for disaster relief efforts

Oct. 13--The Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration, in response to the state of emergency declaration in Florida, has granted a temporary waiver of International Registration Plan requirements along with requirements associated with the International Fuel Tax Agreement for any motor vehicle traveling through Arkansas that is engaged in disaster relief efforts.

The waiver is in effect until Nov. 9.

The waiver applies specifically to IRP and IFTA. This waiver does not allow any vehicle to operate in the state without valid registration and insurance as required, the release explains.
