ICICI Life Insurance Company has appointed Sidharatha Mishra as managing director and chief executive officer, effective Oct. 14, subject to regulatory approvals.
The appointment follows the planned departure of current managing director and chief executive officer Anup Bagchi, who will step down at the close of business Oct. 13. According to a regulatory filing approved by the company's board, Mishra will first assume the role of chief operating officer on Oct. 6 before taking over as chief executive.
Mishra brings more than 26 years of banking experience and currently leads digital channels and partnerships, customer service, and NRI and IFIG businesses at ICICI Bank. He holds a bachelor's degree in science and a postgraduate diploma in management with a specialization in finance from Utkal University.
In its filing, the board also expressed appreciation for Bagchi's contributions to the ICICI Group during a career spanning nearly three decades.
