Amy Libby: Morning Press: Ridgefield man killed in I-5 crash; voyeurism charges; truck torched

Columbian (Vancouver, WA)

Oct. 13--Can we expect more rain this weekend or will the sun make an appearance as kids head to pumpkin patches? Check our local weather coverage.

In case you missed them, here are some of the top stories from the week:

Troopers ID pedestrian killed in I-5 crash as 20-year-old Ridgefield man

Washington State Patrol identified a pedestrian killed in a Thursday night crash on Interstate 5 near La Center as a 20-year-old man from Ridgefield.

Billy N. Griffith was pronounced dead at the scene, near the La Center city limits at Milepost 17.3 on the northbound lanes of the freeway, according to a trooper crash memo.

Troopers have told Griffith's family about his death.

* No charges have been filed

Vancouver man, 22, accused of voyeurism faces new charges after search of phone

A 22-year-old Vancouver man previously accused of voyeurism for allegedly taking an upskirt photo of a female customer while he was working at Fred Meyer was back in court Thursday, facing more than two dozen counts of the same charge.

Kirk Addison Williams now faces 27 counts of voyeurism. Vancouver police had arrested Williams in May on suspicion of a single count of voyeurism.

* New allegations predate the incident that led to Williams' arrest in May

Truck with pro-Trump stickers torched at Vancouver bar

Johnny MacKay was bored Sunday night while his wife was at work so he decided to visit Vancouver's Garage Bar & Grille.

He arrived about 9 p.m., had a few drinks, shot pool and listened to a few guys play guitar. He left around 10:30 p.m., taking an Uber home. He drove his wife's car to work Monday morning and swung by the bar, 1101 W. Fourth Plain Blvd., to check on his pickup before heading to Portland International Airport, where he works in maintenance.

Two killed, two injured in fiery Hockinson crash

Two people were killed Saturday night and two injured, one of them with life-threatening injuries, in a single-car crash in the Hockinson area, Clark County authorities said.

Rescuers responding to a 911 call made at 11:22 p.m. found the car on fire at Northeast 182nd Avenue and 139th Street.

Triple-negative breast cancer 'requires all the guns'

The term "breast cancer" is a big umbrella, with the outcome for individual patients ranging widely due to a vast spectrum of factors. And for patients with triple-negative breast cancer, one of the disease's most serious and life-threatening forms, those factors can drastically change their treatment plan.

That was news to Jana Cox, 35, a Vancouver woman diagnosed with triple-negative breast cancer in April. A product developer at Nike, Cox is an avid runner and traveler with no family history of cancer.

Coming to terms with the fact that she'd been diagnosed with such an aggressive and fast-moving cancer was a shock, she said.

* "I thought there was one kind of breast cancer. I had no idea," Cox said.
