The Institute of Finance & Management Announces Winner of Controller of the Year Award at 3rd Annual Controller’s Summit

PR Web

Portland, ME (PRWEB) November 22, 2013

The Institute of Finance & Management (IOFM) announced Controller of the Year, an award presented at the 3rd Annual Controller’s Summit. Winner of the award was Steve Hurst, CPC, controller at Propet USA, Inc.

Members of IOFM’s Controller’s Exchange were surveyed to elicit nominations. The winner of the award was chosen by a panel of experts, headed by Chris Doxey, IOFM’s Executive Director of the Controller Certification program. While presenting the award, Doxey said, “Hurst immediately garnered more than a third of the nominations. His finance acumen and his high level of skill in financial planning, accounting, budgeting, and internal controls are widely recognized in the industry.”

"We were very pleased to present this award," said RD Whitney, executive director of IOFM. "We received a large number of nominations and the caliber of finalists impressed us. But, Steve was a standout. We congratulate him and encourage our community to begin thinking about next year’s nominations."

The Controller of the Year award was co-sponsored by Commerce Bank. “Commerce Bank is very proud to be involved in honoring outstanding financial executives. We are also delighted to support IOFM’s Controller Certification Program,” commented Marc Christman, Vice President, EIPP National Sales of Commerce Bank.

Produced by IOFM, a business unit within Diversified Business Communications, the Controller’s Summit 2013 took place at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas, NV. Professional education opportunities abounded, and speakers from well-known companies and institutions shared their expertise with the attendees.

The Fourth Controller’s Summit will take place September 14-16, 2014 in Chicago, IL.
