Hawkeye Offers New Medical Billing and Coding Associate Program

WATERLOO, Iowa, March 3 -- Hawkeye Community College issued the following news release:
Hawkeye Community College (http://www.hawkeyecollege.edu/) is offering a new Medical Billing and Coding Associate program this fall. Students in this new program will learn skills that enable them to enter one of the fastest-growing fields in healthcare. Medical billing and coding professionals keep and review records, calculate patient charges for services, prepare statements, and submit claims to insurance carriers accurately in an efficient and timely manner. By completing this program, students will have the ability to acquire national certifications.
Students will gain hands-on, practical experience with medical insurance claim forms for various types of medical insurance and will lean how to code items appropriately. They will also learn legal, ethical, regulatory, and HIPAA compliance concepts and requirements. Interested individuals can register for classes beginning March 24.
