FREDERICKSBURG, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Since GEICO’s Mid-Atlantic operations opened in Fredericksburg in 1990, the office has grown to employ more than 3,500 associates – and it has no plans of stopping. GEICO is actively recruiting and plans to hire 70 new associates in its Fredericksburg office by the end of 2009.

Because of GEICO’s continued growth, the company is hiring customer service counselors and sales counselors. GEICO provides paid training for entry-level associates and positions are available for high school and college graduates, applicants with some college and experienced professionals.

"This is a great time to build a career with GEICO," said John Izzo, the regional vice president in Fredericksburg. “We expect continued growth through 2010 and are looking for associates who want to grow with GEICO and be part of our success.”

Anthony Blake, GEICO employment services manager, puts it this way, “If you want a place to establish a career, GEICO is it. No insurance experience is required because we provide a 100 percent paid training program. We offer excellent benefits including competitive salaries, tuition reimbursement, 401(k) plans, medical plans and many other perks.”

Alejandro Velez, an auto sales counselor who started on his successful career path with GEICO in January 2009, said, “What I love about working at GEICO is that I am with a company that truly cares about its customers, the community and its associates. Because I don’t need to worry about my job security, and I can focus on doing the best I can.”

To submit an application online, go to http://careers.geico.com/. Career fairs will be held at GEICO’s Fredericksburg office located at One GEICO Blvd., off US-17/Warrenton Road in Fredericksburg, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the following Wednesdays:
