Florida Contractor Insurance Announces Merger with Comegys Insurance

St. Petersburg, FL and Brandon, FL - Comegys Insurance Corner and Florida Contractor Insurance have agreed to a 9/1/2007 merger. Florida Contractor Insurance will sell its Brandon office building. The employees of both firms will combine all operations in Comegys’ office in Bayfront Towers on One Beach Drive in St Petersburg.

Following the merger, Florida Contractor Insurance will be a part of Comegys Insurance Corner. Florida Contractor Insurance (FCI) started in 2000 by Mark Sierra as Choices Insurance & Financial Services. Over the past 7 years, FCI has become an innovative pioneer in the specialized practice of insuring firms in the Construction Industry. FCI has played an integral role in the creation and implementation of many Construction Industry Programs.

Comegys Insurance Corner was founded in 1939 and is ranked by Insurance Journal (April 2007) as one of the top 100 Property and Casualty Insurance Agencies in the United States. Comegys is run by Mark Berset (CEO) and Linda Comegys-Berset (President).  Mark Berset is the CEO of Comegys Insurance and also serves as Chairman of the Board of Bayfront Medical Foundation and on the Board of Trustees of Bayfront Medical Center. Comegys will start a new Construction Insurance Division which will be led by Sierra and the employees from FCI.
