Electronic Health Records – The Good, the Bad and the Ugly

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--December 4, 2008--The Northern California Chapter of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) announces today a special educational session to take place on December 16, 2008, in San Francisco, CA. The educational session focuses on electronic health records (EHR) and hard won lessons learned by experienced clinician leaders on what you need to know in order to succeed and what to avoid.
Discussion areas for the session will include the current state of the art of EHR systems, and EHR usage among hospitals, physician offices, insurance companies, and patients.
“Electronic health records are now a vital initiative for every healthcare provider, large or small,” said Robert Skok, President of Northern California HIMSS. “While EHRs have enormous potential, the implementation of EHRs is challenging and expensive. We are excited to present a group of distinguished clinician speakers who can share their experiences and key lessons learned in moving towards an EHR.”
