MIDDLETON, Wis., Dec. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Capitol Insurance Companies (Capitol) is pleased to announce they were selected as one of the finalists for A.M. Best Company's 2009 E-Fusion Award. The E-Fusion Award is designed to highlight outstanding, resourceful uses of technology as applied to business strategy in the insurance industry.
Capitol was selected as a finalist for its "CAP OnLine Producer Functionality" application, which is one component of its recently released policy and claim management system. Capitol developed and implemented the CAP OnLine Producer Functionality application in partnership with Wyde Corporation and CGI. This software helps manage both traditional and non-traditional agencies, facilitate clear communications between Capitol and its agencies throughout the United States and track detailed customer feedback and data.
With the release of this new Cap OnLine system earlier this year, agents and brokers have the ability to significantly speed up the process of obtaining insurance quotes online, anytime. "We understand the importance in ease of doing business and believe that by expanding our product mix combined with a new online system, it will be even easier for our customers to place their business with Capitol," said Alan Ogilvie, Vice President of Staff Services.
Each week throughout the month of October, finalists presented their company's entry via a live Webcast to a panel of industry executives. During the Webcasts, finalists had 40 minutes, including time for Questions & Answers, to explain their project, its business purposes, strategy, technological innovations and results. Judges had the opportunity to question the finalists and the online audience also had a chance to submit questions and feedback. The award finalists were selected during a preliminary round of judging.
"Capitol is extremely honored to have been selected as a finalist for the prestigious A.M. Best E-Fusion Award. There were many applicants and to have been recognized as one of the top three business technology innovators in the insurance industry is a tremendous honor," said Troy Lethem, Vice President of Information Services.
