Austrian insurance company VIG increased profit in the Czech Republic to EUR 93 mil in 1H 2012 [Access Czech Republic Business Bulletin]

Vienna Insurance Group (VIG) (Austria), an insurance group, increased profit in the Czech Republic by about 2% to EUR 93 mil, CEK 2.3 bil, in 1H 2012 compared to 1H 2011. Written premium of VIG in the Czech Republic was around EUR 928 mil in 1H 2012. VIG has more than 30% share at the Czech insurance market, where it is represented by the insurance companies Kooperativa (Czech Republic), Ceska podnikatelska pojistovna (Czech Republic) and Pojistovna Ceske sporitelny (Czech Republic). VIG increased its total gross profit by 7% to EUR 302 mil, CEK 7.5 bil, in 1H 2012 compared to 1H 2011.
