ICMG Members Top $12,000 in Fundraising: Insurance Networking Organization Supports First Tee
ASHBURN, VA - March 18, 2014 -- Inter-Company Marketing Group (ICMG), the insurance organization that fosters business networking for insurance strategic alliances, raised $12,525 in support of a youth services organization during its recent 30th annual meeting.
Funds raised will benefit The First Tee of Phoenix, a youth development program that uses golf as a way to teach young people crucial life skills, providing youth of all backgrounds with the opportunity to develop strong character, enhance life's values, and support education through golf.
ICMG members raised the funds through ICMG's annual golf tournament, sponsorships, cash donations, and a silent auction at the ICMG annual meeting, which was held February 4-6, 2014, in Scottsdale, Arizona. ICMG also highlighted the charity's programs at the meeting.
“We chose The First Tee because of its important work with young people,” commented Richard Katz, CLU, ChFC, vice president for direct marketing and sales at ANICO Direct, and the ICMG board member who serves as the charity golf tournament chair. “The way that they give a sound basis for life in their learning programs that incorporate the core values of honesty, integrity, sportsmanship, respect, confidence, responsibility, perseverance, courtesy, and judgment was an influencing factor on the decision to support them. Our participation at the local level helps the local chapters with their programs to get these values taught through the game of golf starting in elementary school in order to help prepare students to grow up and become valuable members of society.”
ICMG's sponsors for the charity event were the following: Beazley Group, Assurity Life, United Commercial Travelers, ANICO Direct, National Administration Co., Ameritas Group, GeoBlue, Genius Avenue, Investors Heritage Life Insurance Co., The Pinnacle Benefits Group, Washington National, AmeriLife, Illinois Mutual Life Insurance Company, Kemper-Reserve National Insurance Co., Medico, Premier Health Solutions, Prospect America, Senior Market Sales, and Senior Security Benefits.
The First Tee provides young people of all backgrounds the opportunity to develop -- through golf and character education – the nine values Mr. Katz referred to above. Its nine healthy habits are the following: energy, play, safety, vision, mind, family, friends, school, and community. ICMG has partnered with The First Tee for six years to support the character-development mission of the youth organization.
