Windhaven™ Insurance Taps Nationally Recognized Actuary to Serve as President

PR Newswire

MIAMI, June 27, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Windhaven™ Insurance has named Ben Turner, a longtime Board Member and nationally recognized actuary who has provided clear and credible leadership for close to two decades, to serve as President of the Miami-based auto insurance carrier, Jimmy E. Whited, Windhaven Founder and CEO, announced today.

"We are thrilled to have Ben back," said Whited. "Windhaven has enjoyed a special relationship with Ben Turner, dating to when he helped launch our first product and through his leadership in analyzing different strategic acquisitions."

Turner, who most recently served as Senior Vice President/Chief Actuary of Texas Mutual Workers' Compensation Insurance, was the first Chief Actuary at Windhaven. He also held senior actuarial roles at Bristol West Insurance and Farmers Insurance Group.

"Our dedication to local agents within our unique corporate culture has enabled us to grow very rapidly," said Whited. "However, the potential to expand even further exists -- especially on a national level. Ben's leadership will elevate all facets of our business, and continue to scale and differentiate us."

Turner received a bachelor's degree in economics, M.B.A. and J.D. from Brigham Young University. An active member of the American Academy of Actuaries, an associate in the Casualty Actuarial Society, and a member of the California State Bar, he resides in Austin, Texas with his wife, Gabby, and his children Joseph, Brigham and Moses.
