GREENWICH, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- W. R. Berkley Corporation (NYSE:WRB) today announced the appointment of Daniel R. Spragg as president of Berkley Select, a Berkley Company. The appointment is effective immediately.

Mr. Spragg has over 30 years of experience in the specialty insurance and insurance consulting industries. He most recently served as founding partner of the insurance and risk advisory practice at an international management consulting firm. Mr. Spragg holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in business administration and economics from Drury University and a Juris Doctorate with an emphasis in business and insurance from Chicago – Kent College of Law. He is a member of the Illinois Bar, a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), an Associate in Reinsurance (ARe) and an Associate in Insurance Accounting and Finance (AIAF).
