Vernor Joins Munich Re America As Head of Incubator

PRINCETON, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Jean Vernor has been named Head of Incubator, New Strategic Markets, for Munich Reinsurance America, Inc. In this newly created position, Vernor will oversee the Innovation Lab and business domains focusing on emerging risks. She will also be responsible for driving the execution and launch of innovative new business opportunities, including those that don’t currently exist within established corporate business models or strategies. Vernor will report to Jill Beggs, Head of New Strategic Markets, Munich Reinsurance America, Inc.

From 2014 to 2018, Vernor was Senior Vice President, Innovation Hub and Direct at MetLife responsible for product management, underwriting, strategy, operations, distribution, and profit and loss in the direct-to-consumer market, as well as leading strategic pilots for the U.S. business. Previously, she held a variety of positions including chief executive officer of a mid-sized company; senior vice president for marketing, product development and sales for the membership division of a start-up that grew to the 10^th largest credit card company in the U.S.; and division head at General Electric where she led a successful transformation and growth in new business, fueled by product innovation and technology.

Vernor holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Oakland University in Michigan. She completed GE’s Top Talent Executive Development Program at Crotonville and MetLife’s Executive Leadership Program at Harvard Business School. She is Six Sigma trained and a certified Scaled Agile Leading SAFe 4 Agilist.
