Three charged in relation to July house fire

Feb. 15--Three people were arrested Tuesday in connection with a July 2016 house fire on West Holly Hill Road in Thomasville, according to court documents.

Timothy Wayne Johnson, 55, of 1410 Holly Grove Road, was charged with eight felony counts including second degree arson, fraudulently burning a dwelling, aid and abet, insurance fraud, obtaining property under false pretenses, conspiracy, exploit the trust of a disabled or elderly person and embezzlement of more than $100,000.

Sherry Saunders Johnson, 54, of 1410 Holly Grove Road, was charged with five felony charges including insurance fraud, obtaining property under false pretenses, conspiracy, exploit the trust of a disabled or elderly person and embezzlement of more than $100,000.

Don Seamon, 60, of 270 Edgewood Drive, was charged with felony second degree arson, felony burning personal property and two counts of felony aid and abet.

According to arrest warrants for Seamon and Timothy Johnson, the pair "did maliciously burn the dwelling house" belonging to Timothy and Sherry Johnson on July 4, 2016.

Timothy and Sherry Johnson are also accused of defrauding a State Farm Insurance officer by filing a homeowner's policy "knowing that the statement contained false and misleading information."

The couple obtained $14,719.49 from State Farm Insurance, according to the arrest warrants. All three arrests were initiated by a complainant with the N.C. Department of Insurance Criminal Investigations, the court documents said.

Seamon, Timothy Johnson and Sherry Johnson are all being held under $500,000 secured bonds. All three are scheduled to appear in court April 7.
