Recently, the House of Representatives passed their version of a "health care" bill. This bill (which we all know is really just phase one of a huge tax break for the very wealthy) will spell pain and suffering for Montanans if it sticks.
It takes $800 billion away from Medicaid funding, and gives over $600 billion of those dollars directly to the wealthy. It will result in sky-high premiums for anyone older than 50. Anyone with a pre-existing condition will find it difficult to impossible to buy insurance. It will cause rural hospitals to shut down and will defund special education. It hurts veterans, and will eliminate thousands of jobs in the medical field.
This bill will now go to the Senate. Eventually, they will send some version back to the House.
So ask yourself this: when that day arrives, do you want Rob Quist representing Montana, or Greg Gianforte? Which candidate knows the hardships of healthcare debt? Which candidate cares deeply about all Montanans? And which candidate is an east coast billionaire, with vicious ads funded by dark money? Montanans are smart and independent. We know who is on our side. Vote for Rob Quist.
