Sen. Schatz Issues Statement on Approval of Disaster Declaration for Hawaii

WASHINGTON, May 11 -- The office of Sen. Brian Schatz, D-Hawaii, issued the following statement on President Trump's approval of a disaster declaration that will bring relief to communities in Hawaii that were impacted by the volcanic eruption of Kilauea:
"We are appreciative of the good and quick work of our federal partners as we navigate this difficult and unpredictable disaster.
"This declaration will help our state and county governments and our community manage this ongoing disaster, and eventually it will help us with recovery."
