Sen. Sanders Introduces Bill to Establish Medicare-For-All Health Insurance Program

WASHINGTON, Sept. 15 -- Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., has introduced legislation (S. 1804) to establish a Medicare-for-all health insurance program.

The bill was introduced on Sept. 13 and has 16 co-sponsors. Co-sponsors include Sens. Tammy Baldwin, D-Wis., Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., Cory Booker, D-N.J., Al Franken, D-Minn., Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y., Kamala D. Harris, D-Calif., Martin Heinrich, D-N.M., Mazie K. Hirono, D-Hawaii, Patrick J. Leahy, D-Vt., Edward J. Markey, D-Mass., Jeff Merkley, D-Ore., Brian Schatz, D-Hawaii, Jeanne Shaheen, D-N.H., Tom Udall, D-N.M., Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., and Sheldon Whitehouse, D-R.I.

The legislation was referred to the Senate Finance Committee.
