PatientFocus Names Kyle Duke Executive Vice President of Operations

PR Newswire

NASHVILLE, Tenn., Oct. 20, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- PatientFocus, a medical billing company focused exclusively on self-pay and patient-pay accounts, announced today the appointment of Kyle Duke as Executive Vice President (EVP) of Operations for the Nashville-based company. In his new role, Duke will lead all aspects of the company's operations and will spearhead expansion of its cloud-based services and solutions.

Prior to joining PatientFocus, Duke has served as the Chief Information Officer (CIO) for the Bureau of TennCare within the Tennessee Department of Health Care Financing and Administration. At TennCare, Tennessee's Medicaid program, Duke has been responsible for developing the agency's technology strategy and leading the team that supports managed care delivery to the program's 1.2 million members. Earlier this year, Duke was named a 2015 CIO Award winner by the Nashville Business Journal.

"Kyle's deep expertise in the business of healthcare – and in information technology and security – will bring tremendous value to our clients," said David Frederiksen, Co-Founder and CEO of PatientFocus. "With his extensive experience in both business strategy and IT, Kyle is a unique leader who can translate business and client needs into technical solutions without missing a beat," Frederiksen said.

PatientFocus serves small and rural hospitals, large physician practices, and other healthcare companies in 20 states. The company has more than tripled the number of hospital clients it serves over the last year and grown the size of its sales pipeline by over 600%. "We could not be more excited to have Kyle onboard as we enter this new phase of exponential growth," Frederiksen said.

Previously, Duke served as Vice President of Information Technology and Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at Cigna-HealthSpring and as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Insight Healthcare Financial, Inc. Duke is a CPA and serves on several boards, including the Nashville Technology Council and the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Tennessee Chapter. He earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Lipscomb University and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in computer science and business from Maryville College.
