WASHINGTON, July 2 -- The America's Health Insurance Plans will host a webinar entitled "Making Price Transparency a Reality for Your Providers" on Aug. 5 from 1 p.m.-2 p.m. (ET):

The demand for medication price transparency has reached a tipping point. Patients are expecting it, health insurance providers are adopting it, and the federal government is requiring it.

In fact, a recent survey of U.S. patients revealed that patients believe prescription price transparency at the point of care helps them afford their medications (55%), and increases both their satisfaction with their doctor (50%) and the likelihood that they'll stay with that health care provider (50%).

Payers play an important role in accelerating the use of medication price transparency tools like Real-Time Prescription Benefit and Electronic Prior Authorization.

There is a need to deepen the payer segments understanding of the regulations surrounding these tools, the impact these tools have on the providers workflow and how payer engagement drives adoption of these tools.
