Sen. Paul Cicarella and Sen. Stephen Harding issued the following statement regarding the arrests of two Glastonbury men accused of using roughly 3,000 stolen identities to open bank accounts and commit widespread fraud.
"On Super Bowl weekend, many online bets will be placed.
People need to have confidence in the system.
This effective collaboration between state and federal authorities to confront data privacy fraud sends a clear message:
Attempted identity theft in Connecticut will be dealt with swiftly, victims will be protected, and those who break our laws will be held accountable."
