Niagara County schedules sessions to answer health insurance questions from seniors [The Buffalo News, N.Y.]

Oct. 22—The Niagara County Office for the Aging has scheduled a series of five counseling and assistance meetings to answer health insurance questions from seniors during the current Medicare open enrollment period.
The first meeting will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday in Lockport Town Hall, 6560 Dysinger Road. Trained staff and volunteers will provide assistance on eligibility, supplemental insurance, prescription coverage and long-term care planning.
The other meetings, all from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., will be held Nov. 1 in the John Duke Senior Center, 1201 Hyde Park Blvd., Niagara Falls; Nov. 2 in the Lockport Senior Center, 33 Ontario St.; Nov. 9 in the Lewiston Senior Center, 4361 Lower Mountain Road, Youngstown; and Nov. 17 in the North Tonawanda Senior Center, 110 Goundry St.
"There are of many choices for seniors, there can be program changes from year to year, and, quite frankly, it can get overwhelming very quickly," said Darlene DiCarlo, director of the Office for the Aging. — Dale Anderson
