More and more investors are flocking to the Self-Directed IRA--a strategy of maintaining more control over one's retirement while expanding investable assets--according to a recent blog post at American IRA. The Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 helped establish the rules for retirement investing in America, and since then, the ability to guide one's own financial destiny has been possible with the tax protections afforded by the government.
