Montana Democratic Party: Rate-Hike Rosendale Continues Attacks on Pre-Existing Conditions

HELENA, Montana, Sept. 11 -- The Montana Democratic Party issued the following news release:
In the race for U.S. House, Matt "Rate-Hike" Rosendale continues to demonstrate just how out of touch he is when it comes to protecting affordable and accessible health care for Montanans, earning his namesake as Montana insurers announced many Montanans will be paying more for healthcare in 2021. It's par for the course for Rosendale, who in 2018 rolled over for the insurance companies and rubber stamped rate hikes of 23%.
Rosendale also continues to support efforts to repeal the Affordable Care Act, which protects those with pre-existing conditions like asthma -- and COVID-19. If Maryland Matt had his way, 152,000 Montanans with pre-existing conditions would once again be vulnerable to insurance company discrimination. Kathleen Williams, on the other hand, will always defend Montanans with pre-existing conditions from insurance company discrimination, and continue to fight for quality, affordable health care.
"Rate-Hike Rosendale continues to try to pull the wool over Montanans' eyes, but they won't forget his long record of undermining access to affordable health care," said MDP Communications Director Nathan Stein. "Montanans can expect Rosendale to do what he's always done -- shill for insurance companies and attack protections for pre-existing conditions."
