It is an insurance policy financed 100% by the State, with resources from the Rural Guarantee Fund and the Agricultural Insurance Fund (Fogasa).
In the department of Junín, the sum of S/. 428,656.08 has already been indemnified, representing 538 indemnified hectares. To date, 833 producers have already received disbursements from the Banco de la Nación, which continues with an advance of 65%.
The processes of reporting, evaluation, adjustment, registration and disbursement of SAC remain in progress, where the Regional Directorate of Agriculture of Junín plays a key role in its progress. How does Catastrophic Agricultural Insurance work?
Compensation is established in a unique manner, regardless of the type of crop or the phenological stage at the time of the damage or loss. For the 2023-2024 crop year, the indemnity amount is S/ 800 per hectare for crops prioritized by the DRA/GRA, and S/ 400 per hectare for non-prioritized crops. Maximum coverage is limited to 10 hectares per beneficiary.
