Michael Fedele of Stamford Appointed to UNH Board of Governors

WEST HAVEN, Conn., April 23 -- The University of New Haven issued the following news release:
Michael Fedele, the founder and CEO of Stamford-based Pinnacle Group, a national information technology firm, has been elected to the University of New Haven Board of Governors.
Born in Minturno, Italy, Fedele is a longtime Stamford resident who served as lieutenant governor of Connecticut from 2007 to 2011.
"Michael's business acumen will be a tremendous asset to the board," said Philip H. Bartels, chair of the Board of Governors. "His community service is an example not only for other board members but also for students, faculty and staff."
Fedele started his public service as a member of Stamford'sBoard of Representatives, serving the city's 13th District from 1987 to 1991. He also represented Stamford's147th District in the Connecticut House of Representatives from 1992 until 2002, where he held a number of leadership posts, including ranking member of the Legislature's Insurance and Real Estate Committee and assistant House minority leader.
"I am humbled and honored to have been elected to serve on the University's Board of Governors," Fedele said. "This is a very exciting time in the University's history."
In 2009, Fedele, who attended Fairfield University and Norwalk State Technical College, received the Prescott Bush Award, the highest honor the Connecticut Republican Party awards to a member of the party. He also was awarded the 2009 Humanitarian of the Year Award by Boy's Town of Italy.
