John Ryan Joins Hub California as Northern California Employee Benefits Market Leader

SAN FRANCISCO, March 14, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Hub California, a wholly owned subsidiary of HUB International Limited, a leading global insurance brokerage, risk advisory and employee benefits firm, announced today that John Martin Ryan has joined HUB California as the Employee Benefits Market Leader for Northern California, responsible for managing and overseeing all Northern California employee benefit producers, identifying and recruiting new high-caliber employee benefits producers, leading client servicing teams with assistance from client service directors, assist in identifying regional specialists in wellness, communications, support and underwriting and data analysis as well as act as an executive sponsor for key clients. Ryan has spent virtually all of his adult life involved in the effective strategic design, delivery and implementation of customized employee benefits plans and solutions for middle and large market clients in the Greater Bay Area. Ryan will be based in the HUB San Francisco office located at 580 California St., Suite 1300, San Francisco, California 94104 and fully expects to frequent all of the Bay Area offices that offer employee benefits consulting solutions including Concord, San Ramon and Sunnyvale.

Most recently, Ryan served as Senior Director, employee benefits consulting for NFP, a national employee benefits and risk management consultancy based in San Francisco, CA, where he was responsible for the design and service of employee benefit plans, HR programs, retirement plans and business insurance for employer groups of ten to twenty thousand employees. Prior to joining NFP, Ryan owned his own benefits consulting firm, Bay Benefits, giving him the perspective of a business owner and entrepreneur while logging almost twenty-five years in the insurance industry.

Ryan holds a Bachelor's Degree in Finance from the University of Arizona Eller College of Management. He has served as Legislative Chair – NorCal for the National Association of Health Underwriters as well as numerous HR and employee benefit advisory groups.
