IRI Issues Statement on Thomas Workman’s Nomination to FSOC

WASHINGTON, Nov. 30 -- The Insured Retirement Institute issued the following statement by Lee Covington, senior vice president and general counsel, in response to the official announcement of Thomas Workman's nomination to serve in a key insurance position on the Financial Stability Oversight Council:
"IRI can think of no one better to be FSOC's insurance expert than Tom Workman.
"With a long and distinguished career in the insurance industry, including nearly two decades leading the Life Insurance Council of New York (LICONY), Tom's expertise and industry knowledge will be extremely valuable to FSOC as it works to protect our nation's financial stability.
"IRI encourages the Senate to work expeditiously and confirm Tom to this position."
