Henry Schein Medical Launches Comprehensive Cardiac Care Resource Center To Raise Awareness Of February As Heart Health Month

PR Newswire

MELVILLE, N.Y., Feb. 7, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Henry Schein Medical, the U.S. medical business of Henry Schein, Inc. (Nasdaq: HSIC), today announced the launch of its Comprehensive Cardiac Care resource center, a web-based hub designed to emphasize the importance of preventive cardiac care to physicians and patients. The webpage was created in recognition of February as Heart Health Month.

The Comprehensive Cardiac Care page features information on preventive treatments, screenings, and solutions for six topics related to heart health:

  • Adult Body Mass Index Assessment;
  • Controlling High Blood Pressure;
  • Cholesterol Management;
  • Medical Assistance with Smoking and Tobacco Use Cessation;
  • Spirometry Evaluation for Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease; and
  • Comprehensive Diabetes Care Quality Measures.

According to the American Heart Association, more than 92 million Americans are living with some form of cardiovascular disease or the after effects of stroke, which is why preventive cardiac care is of the utmost importance. The Comprehensive Cardiac Care page links to brief explanations about the importance of prevention, detection, and treatments of risk factors, early identification and treatment of heart attacks and strokes, and the prevention of recurrent cardiovascular events.

"Heart Health Month is an opportunity to raise awareness of the importance of preventive care, as well as an ideal time for physicians to speak with their patients about maintaining good cardiovascular health," said Bridget Ross, President of the Henry Schein Global Medical Group. "We at Henry Schein are committed to our role as a total solutions provider that our customers can rely on for information and education, and we encourage practitioners and their staff to explore our Comprehensive Cardiac Care resource center this February and throughout the year."
