Global X Funds Expands Distribution Team With Senior Hires

NEW YORK, Aug. 25, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Global X Management Company LLC (Global X), the New York-based provider of exchange-traded funds (ETFs), today announced the appointments of Brian Diessner as Head of Sales and Chris Ciompi as Head of Marketing.

Mr. Diessner, joining from BlackRock, will lead Global X's institutional sales operations, bringing with him over 15 years of distribution experience focused on ETFs. Mr. Ciompi, joining from Liberty Mutual Insurance, will drive the firm's overall marketing portfolio, bringing his experience in branding, public relations and advertising. Brian and Chris will both report directly to Bruno del Ama, Global X's CEO.

Brian Diessner was most recently a Director with the US Wealth Advisory Direct Team at BlackRock, where he was responsible for driving iShares, mutual fund and SMA distribution partnerships through retail self-directed platforms. Mr. Diessner's service with the firm dates back to 2000, including his years at Barclays Global Investors (BGI), which merged with BlackRock in 2009.  Mr. Diessner received his Bachelor of Science from the University of Colorado Boulder.

Chris Ciompi was most recently the Vice President of Integrated Marketing for Liberty Mutual Insurance's $16-billion personal insurance strategic business unit.  His responsibilities there included the 2014 re-launch of the Liberty Mutual brand across all advertising channels, brand architecture, brand valuation, public relations, and marketing strategy for both the Liberty Mutual Insurance and Safeco Insurance brands. Prior to working at Liberty Mutual, Mr. Ciompi was an Engagement Manager in the Financial Services Practice at McKinsey & Company. He holds a Master of Business Administration from Duke University's Fuqua School of Business and a Bachelor of Arts from Rice University.
