First American Title Co-President Sally French Tyler Selected for 2024 HousingWire Vanguard Award
—Tyler recognized for delivering outstanding business results and her commitment to innovation and empowering women in real estate—
The HousingWire Vanguard Award recognizes C-level industry leaders within housing and mortgage finance – those whose leadership is moving markets forward each and every day. HousingWire Vanguard Award winners are carefully selected by a panel of HousingWire editors and reporters for their vital contributions to their companies and their dynamic influence in transforming the mortgage and real estate industries.
“Sally’s inspirational leadership has delivered exceptional business results, driven key innovations, and powered the advancement of women, changing both First American and the title insurance industry for the better,” said
As the head of the company’s National Commercial Services division from 2006 to 2021, Tyler helped double operating revenue for the commercial title and settlement business. To accelerate innovation at First American, Sally spearheaded the creation of the VisionQuest program, providing an innovation-forward environment where employees are encouraged and empowered to share their ideas. More than an initiative, VisionQuest sparked a revolution of thought and approach. For example, ClarityFirst®, a first-of-its-kind, end-to-end digital solution for commercial real estate transactions that brings added speed, certainty, and simplicity to First American Title’s customers, was born out of VisionQuest.
As part of her contribution to First American’s “people-first” culture, Tyler co-founded and leads the company’s Women in Leadership initiative. To date, over 100 women have graduated from the program, and more than 45 percent have received promotions. Her leadership of the Women in Leadership program and its impressive results have contributed to First American being recognized for a ninth consecutive year in 2024 as one of Fortune’s 100 Best Companies to Work For®, and a Fortune Best Workplace for Women™ for the eighth year in a row in 2023. Tyler’s consistent support for women in the industry has been recognized by Linkage, GlobeSt. and the Commercial Real Estate Women Network (CREW), which honored Tyler as tenth inductee to CREW’s exclusive Circle of Excellence, describing her as a “tireless advocate for CREW and for women in the industry.”
“The HousingWire Vanguards Award recognizes the most outstanding executive leaders in mortgage and real estate – executives who make a real impact by driving innovation, setting strategic direction, and steering their organizations toward monumental achievements,” said
