Jan. 24--There are a series of upcoming job fairs with openings in the fields of logistics, health care, construction and more. Below, the Journal-News spells out the details for attending these events:

About 40 new jobs at retirement village

Nonprofit Cedar Village Retirement Community, located at 5467 Cedar Village Drive in Mason, is holding a job fair Tuesday, Jan. 26. It has 42 new positions to fill in its skilled nursing facility, aquatic therapy program, certified home health agency and private duty care giving services.

Jobs include full-time nurses aides, home health aides, housekeepers and dietary servers. Apply from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Tuesday's event. Applicants should bring resumes and be prepared for interviews. Some may leave with job offers pending background checks, according to Cedar Village.

Roofer seeking apprentices

As this column has previously reported, Ray St. Clair Roofing of Fairfield returns to OhioMeansJobs-Butler County for another round of recruiting from 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Jan. 27.

Ray St. Clair is hiring about 15 people to train in an all-new apprenticeship program, Controller Tom Grabo previously said. Experienced roofers, siders and window installers are becoming more difficult to find so the company is starting its own training effort, he said.

Staffing firms recruiting this week

More than 10 area staffing agencies such as Staffmark, Belflex and Total Staffing Solutions will be at OhioMeansJobs-Butler County for a staffing firm job fair from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 28.

The firms are hiring for hundreds of jobs of all skill levels paying from $8.10 an hour up to $22 an hour, according to the government-run job center. The types of jobs for which the agencies are hiring include warehouse and logistics, manufacturing and customer service.

Mercy Health recruitment event

Nonprofit Cincinnati-area hospital network Mercy Health is seeking revenue cycle experts to fill more than 50 new and open roles in Greater Cincinnati at a recruitment event in February in Mason.

The event takes place from 4 to 7 p.m. Feb. 4 in the fourth floor cafeteria at Mercy Health's Mason business office, located at 4605 Duke Drive. The jobs are located at the Mason Business Office and the Blue Ash Regional Office, located at 4600 McAuley Place, according to the health system.

Hiring managers will be available to interview candidates for a wide range of roles in hospitals and physician practices. According to Mercy Health, candidates are sought with skills and experience in at least one of the following areas: medical billing; medical coding; denials/appeals; medical claims; credits; refunds; cash posting/manual posting/electronic payment posting; physician scheduler/registrar; pre-registration; financial clearance; pre-authorization; claims follow-up; accounts receivable follow up; physician coding; appeals; insurance collections; and payment variance.

It's not necessary to apply ahead of time, but Mercy Heath encourages attendees to bring resumes to the event. Representatives will discuss career opportunities with attendees and show them how to apply online at www.mercy.jobs.

Annual construction hiring events

The trade group Ohio Valley Associated Builders and Contractors has helped organize two upcoming job fairs where approximately 75 employers in the Cincinnati and Dayton construction business will be hiring, said John Morris, president of the builders group.

The first event is from 3 to 6 p.m. Feb. 10 at the Dayton Convention Center, located downtown at 22 E. Fifth St.

Associated Builders and Contractors, Air Conditioning Contractors Association, the Home Builders Association of Dayton and OhioMeansJobs-Montgomery County are partnering to hold the job fair.

Then, a second construction industry job fair will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. March 2 at Xavier University's Cintas Center, 1624 Herald Ave., in Cincinnati.

"Employers will pay for your training and you have a direct pathway to high sustainable wages for your career without accumulating debt," Morris said about why construction is a good job opportunity.
