FEMA: President Donald J. Trump Approves Major Disaster Declaration for Montana

WASHINGTON, Oct. 31 -- The U.S. Department of Homeland Security'sFederal Emergency Management Agency issued the following news release:
The Federal Emergency Management Agency announced today that federal disaster assistance has been made available to the state of Montana to supplement state, tribal and local recovery efforts in the areas affected by flooding from May 1 to June 10, 2018.
Federal funding is available to the state, tribal, eligible local governments and certain private nonprofit organizations on a cost-sharing basis for emergency work and the repair or replacement of facilities damaged by flooding in Carbon, Custer, Golden Valley, Lewis and Clark, Missoula, Musselshell, Park, Powell, and Treasure counties.
Federal funding is also available on a cost-sharing basis for hazard mitigation measures throughout the state.
James R. Stephenson has been named as the Federal Coordinating Officer for federal recovery operations in the affected area. Stephenson said additional designations may be made at a later date if warranted by the results of further damage assessments.
