Economic Group Pension Services, Inc. (EGPS), a national retirement consulting and administrative firm, is proud to announce the growth of its actuarial team. These individuals offer a wealth of expertise and are the latest additions in the expansion of EGPS in the retirement planning arena.
Daniel Liss, Chief Executive Officer stated, "I am thrilled to have two newly qualified Enrolled Actuaries (EA) and an Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) on the team. Each of these individuals brings with them extensive knowledge regarding defined benefit and cash balance plans."
Katie Brown, a Consulting Actuary with EGPS since 2015, became an Enrolled Actuary in 2017. She has worked in the pension actuarial industry for over 10 years and excels in working on large defined benefit plans. In addition to her EA, she is also a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries and has a bachelor's and master's degree in Mathematics. Katie is currently working in EGPS' New York office.
Charity Westphal, the newest Enrolled Actuary to join the team, passed her EA exam in January 2018. She brings to the team her knowledge of traditional/tiered defined benefit plans, cash balance hybrid plans, and defined benefit/defined contribution combo plans. Charity will work in EGPS' Orange County, California office. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of California, Berkley.
Based in the San Diego, California office, Jon Hopkins joins EGPS with prior experience working on both small and large pension plans. During his five years in pension actuarial services, Jon has successfully obtained an ASA credential with The Society of Actuaries and is a Member of The American Academy of Actuaries. Jon's educational background includes a Bachelor of Economics from University of California, San Diego as well as a Master of International Economics and Business from The Corvinus University of Budapest.
